I had a craving for putanesca one day, and I decided to try out a recipe using my gourmet bulad. Definitely come out with a winner. The perfect salty and savoury balance of the bulad, complemented this dish to a tee. Definitely something different to bring to a potluck or when you host a dinner or luncheon at home. Hope you enjoy this dish as much as I did 😀

What you’ll need:
3-4 tbsps olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic, sliced thinly
2 tbsps Pria’s Gourmet Bulad
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 400g can crushed tomatoes
2 tbsps olives, sliced
2 tbsps capers, liquid removed
1/4 cup fresh basil, roughly torn
300 grams pasta of choice, cooked al dente
3 tbsps parmesan cheese
parsley for garnish
Directions
- In a saucepan, heat olive oil and saute onions for 3-5 minutes. Add sliced garlic and cook for another minute. Add Pria’s Gourmet Bulad and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add canned crushed tomatoes and mix well. Add olives, capers and fresh basil. Let sauce simmer for 25-30 minutes on low heat. (This process will eliminate sourness of the tomatoes)
- Once sauce has simmered, add cooked pasta and parmesan cheese. Mix to combine. Garnish with chopped parsley and parmesan cheese. Serve and enjoy!
